· Primary Stroke Center
· 252 McHenry St, Burlington, WI 53105
· AAH will require the Covid vaccine
● General Information
· Beds: 14
· Experience? 2 years
· First-time traveler? No
● Patient Types:
· Emergency patients from neonates to geriatrics
· Pediatric experience- preferred 1% peds population
· Chest Pain, Abd Pain, Stroke, Neuro
· Air transport AMI patients
· 2 Psych Patients average/ week
● Patient Ratios:
· Nurse - 1:4 (days) 1:5 (nights)
· Tech 1:10
● Required Certifications:
· ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, NIHSS
· De-escalation not required
● Skills required
· Triage, assisting with RSI/intubation, procedural sedation, restraints, blood products -mass transfusion, experience in stroke -neuro alert /criteria, trauma activations/care, Cardiac -STEMI
● Support on the Unit:
· Techs (Ratio - 1:10)
· Charge nurse: does this person have patient load? Yes; mostly full patient load
· Phlebotomy- assist with blood draws if needed
· RT: 24/7
· Hospitalist: 24/7
· Midlevel from 10a-10p
· Bedside/nurses station tele monitoring
● Charting System/Equipment:
· Epic- preferred
· Alaris
· Pyxis
● Floating:
· No
● Orientation:
· 1 day of hospital and 1 day of unit orientation.
● Scheduling:
· Weekend rotation every 3rd other
· Can we approve time off? Up to 7 days; if more contact Steve
· Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No
· Holiday Expectations: Every Other
