Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology
Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Facility: CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico – Alamogordo Radiation Oncology Clinic
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks, with potential for extension
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Shift: Day Shift (40 hours/week)
 

Job Summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment at their Radiation Oncology Clinic in Alamogordo, NM. This role involves providing both routine and complex patient care while working independently in a collaborative outpatient oncology setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation)
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols
• Monitor patient responses, side effects, and treatment effectiveness
• Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers
• Address emotional, psychological, and social needs of oncology patients
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
• Delegate tasks appropriately and assist in managing clinical workflows

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License (New Mexico or compact state)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (oncology preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior experience in oncology or radiation oncology settings
• Strong patient education and care coordination skills
