Description
RN First Assist - Surgical Services
Position Specific Details
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years experience as Surgical First Assist
- Independent Da Vinci Robot experience required
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Ability to scrub (end of day) preferred
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- VA license
- RNFA (required prior to submission)
Schedule Details
- Shift: DAY (End of week preferred)
- Call Requirement: 1 weekday call, 1 weekend shift 2x per 6 week schedule
- Note: OR closed on national holidays, call may be required
Unit Specific Details
- Facility: 4-6 suites
- Case Volume: Average 10-20 cases per day
- Equipment: Microscope, Da Vinci Robot
- Specialties: Robotics, spine, ortho, laparoscopic, general, GYN, URO, vascular, ENT
Must be strong across most specialties - Transplants: No
Licensing/Certification
- Current RN License in the state in which they are working or covered by compact (required)
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred)
- CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred)
- SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred)
Education
- Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred)
Work Experience
- 2 years of Critical Care experience
- Completion of OR internship program (preferred)
