Description
📌 Requirements – RN Med/Surg (Emergency Services)
🔹 Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience
- Must have recent experience within the last 12 months
- Experience in a large acute care hospital setting required
- Prior experience handling high patient census / fast-paced environments preferred
🔹 Clinical Skills (Required)
- Strong patient assessment skills
- Medication administration
- Wound care & infection control
- IV therapy & catheterization
- Post-operative care
- Telemetry monitoring
- Patient education & discharge planning
🔹 Technical Skills
- Experience with EPIC EMR (preferred)
🔹 Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited institution
🔹 Certifications & Licensure
- Active New York State RN License (must be in hand)
- AHA BLS Certification (required)
- AHA ACLS Certification (required if applicable)
🔹 Schedule Requirements
- Must be able to work 3 shifts/week (11.5 hours each)
- Every other weekend required
- Comfortable working Day shift (8:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
🔹 Additional Requirements
- Ability to work in a high-volume Emergency Department setting
- Must be comfortable managing ~40 admitted patients per shift (team-based care)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be flexible and adaptable to rapid patient turnover
