Description

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Long Beach, California
Shift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities

Perform decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment following proper protocols and PPE guidelines
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble complex surgical instruments
Assemble and package instrument trays according to established guidelines
Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves and washer disinfectors
Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage
Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and instrument tracking
Monitor inventory levels and report missing or damaged instruments
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of processing equipment
Ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI standards, SOPs, and manufacturer IFUs
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Communicate effectively with team members and support staff
Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in sterile processing
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques
Experience with autoclaves, washer disinfectors, and related equipment
Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and infection control practices
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education & Certification

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST, CIS, or equivalent) – required
