RN – Postpartum / GYN (Mother-Baby) | Night Shift
📍 Floyd Medical Center
Assignment Overview
- Position: Registered Nurse – Postpartum / GYN (Mother-Baby)
- Schedule: 36 Hours/Week (3x12s)
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Facility Details
- Facility Type: Teaching Hospital (Residency Program)
- Bed Size: 361 Beds
- Trauma Level: Level II
- NICU Level: Level III
- Centers of Excellence: Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center
Unit Information
- Unit: Mother-Baby / Postpartum
- Beds: 21 (reducing to 16 + 5 overflow during renovation)
- Monthly Deliveries: 180–200
Patient Population
- Postpartum moms & newborns
- High-risk pregnancies (pre-eclampsia, diabetes)
- NICU moms
- Antepartum patients (preferred experience)
- Occasional GYN surgeries (e.g., hysterectomy overflow)
Ratios
- RN Ratio: 1:3–4 couplets
Requirements
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years Mother-Baby / Postpartum experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Certifications:
- BLS
- NRP
Skills Required
- Couplet care (mom & baby)
- Newborn assessment
- Heel sticks & 24-hour testing
- Blood sugar & bilirubin management
- EPIC experience (Required)
⭐ Preferred Skills
- Antepartum experience
- “Stork Nurse” / delivery support experience

- IV Pumps: ICU Medical
