Job Summary:
 

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and support to residents in a long-term care setting. This role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, maintaining patient comfort, and supporting the nursing team to ensure high-quality care.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene
• Provide incontinence care and skin care to prevent breakdown
• Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
• Assist with feeding, hydration, and meal setup
• Support mobility and transfers (including use of mechanical lifts with assistance)
• Turn and reposition residents every 2–3 hours
• Assist with range of motion exercises
• Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition
• Document care and report to nursing staff each shift
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
• Respond promptly to call bells and resident needs
• Transport residents within and outside the facility as required

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a New York State-approved Nursing Assistant training program (minimum 100 hours)
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Certifications Required:

• Active New York Nurse Aide Certification
• Must be listed in the New York State RHCF Nurse Aide Registry
