Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job – Indiana, Carmel
Position Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical)
- Location: Carmel, Indiana
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Unit Details: 31-bed med-surg unit focused on general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery
- Clinical Focus: Experience with bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), voiding trials, and urologic surgeries required
- Floating: Required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with voiding trials and/or urologic surgeries

- Indiana RN’s are restricted from working at this facility effective 11/30/2024, except for Perioperative/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (including Endoscopy, IR RN, PACU, Cath Lab RN, Sterile Processing)
- Must complete facility-specific orientation packets and compliance checklists prior to start
- Must complete self-study orientation and pass test via DocuSign at least 1 week before start
- Must complete facility-specific confidentiality agreements and policy acknowledgments
- Employment application must cover 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
Summary
This is a 13-week travel Registered Nurse assignment on a medical-surgical unit with a focus on surgical specialties including bariatrics and urology. Candidates must have at least 2 years of RN experience, BLS certification, and meet comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements. The position requires floating and adherence to strict facility-specific onboarding and compliance protocols. First-time travelers are welcome; prior travel experience is not mandatory.
