Description

Job Summary:

The Endoscopy Technician supports physicians and nursing staff in performing endoscopic procedures. Working under the supervision of an RN and clinical leadership, this role provides direct patient care, assists during procedures, and ensures proper handling, cleaning, and maintenance of endoscopy equipment.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians and RNs during endoscopic procedures
  • Support pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care, including monitoring vital signs
  • Prepare procedure rooms, position patients, and ensure proper setup
  • Handle and manage endoscopy instruments and accessories (forceps, snares, clips, etc.)
  • Perform endoscope pre-cleaning and high-level disinfection (HLD)
  • Conduct quality checks on equipment (air, water, white balancing)
  • Assist with specimen collection and proper labeling
  • Troubleshoot endoscopy equipment (suction, CO₂ pumps, water systems)
  • Maintain accurate documentation in endoscopy reporting systems
  • Support airway positioning and suctioning as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Requirements:

  • Experience with advanced endoscopy procedures – REQUIRED:
    • EBUS
    • Bronchoscopy
    • EUS
    • ERCP
  • Minimum healthcare experience in clinical/endoscopy setting – Preferred (2+ years)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment
  • Strong attention to detail and patient care skills

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED – Required
  • Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech, or EMT training – Preferred

Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA) – Required
