Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – PRN:
(Weekend Coverage)
Facility: W. W. Hastings Hospital
Schedule: PRN – Saturdays & Sundays (Day Shift)
Setting: Inpatient | All Age Groups
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide weekend (PRN) coverage in an inpatient setting. The SLP will assess, diagnose, treat, and help prevent communication and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Provide therapy services to patients of all ages in an inpatient setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Perform bedside swallow evaluations and recommend appropriate dietary modifications
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques and care plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Patient Population:
- All ages: Pediatric, adult, and geriatric
- Conditions include: Stroke, neurological disorders, post-surgical cases, dysphagia, cognitive impairments, and communication disorders
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active state license (Oklahoma or eligible)
- Strong clinical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a PRN setting
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) – preferred
