Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Nights
Location: Pittsfield, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours: 12-hour shifts (36 hours guaranteed)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced hospital setting. The RN will support patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery while ensuring safe, evidence-based clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in labor and delivery
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout all stages of labor
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Support postpartum recovery and immediate newborn care
- Administer medications and treatments per hospital protocols
- Collaborate with OB providers, anesthesia, and neonatal teams
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Meditech Expanse
- Follow evidence-based maternity care and safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of current Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active Massachusetts RN license (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- NRP certification (must be in hand at submission)
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location
- Must have reliable transportation
