Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Rome, GA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Details: 9hr Day Shift (36 hours/week) – Sunday to Wednesday | On-call Monday–Wednesday until 6:00 PM | Holidays if scheduled
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials to evaluate organ function and structure. This role requires independent work, strong technical expertise, and the ability to manage a variety of nuclear medicine studies.
Facility Overview
- 361 licensed beds
- Level II Trauma Center
- Teaching Hospital with Residency Program
- Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
Department Overview
- Average 14 patients per day
- 3 rooms
- 2–3 techs on weekdays, 1 on weekends
- Must be comfortable working independently
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals safely
- Conduct cardiac stress/rest testing and specialty scans
- Start IVs and monitor patients during procedures
- Ensure patient safety and radiation protection
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams
- Document procedures in EMR
Patient Population & Procedures
- Adult patients only
- Procedures include cardiac scans, stress tests, HIDA scans, GI bleeds, VQ scans, renal scans, bone scans, lung perfusion scans, parathyroid imaging, and I-131 therapy
Required Qualifications
- BLS Certification – Required
- ARRT or NMTCB Certification – Required
- Minimum 2 years Nuclear Medicine experience
- No state license required
Skills Required
- Experience with cardiac stress/rest tests, HIDA scans, GI bleeds, VQ scans (required)
- IV start competency
- Experience with Siemens CKM and Siemens Symbia S (required)
- Siemens Prospecta experience (preferred)
- Ability to work independently
Department Support
- Lead Tech and management support
- House transport team
- RN support (weekends for cardiac cases)
- Rapid Response/Code Team
Technology & Equipment
- EMR: EPIC
- PACS: Philips
- Equipment: Siemens CKM, Siemens Symbia S, Siemens Prospecta (preferred)

Orientation
- NEO (New Employee Orientation)
- 4 departmental orientation shifts
Scheduling Details
- Sunday–Wednesday schedule
- On-call Monday–Wednesday until 6:00 PM
- Holidays: Work if scheduled or on-call as assigned
- RTO subject to manager approval
