Description
Position: Obstetrics (OB) Nurse – Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Newborn Care
Location Requirement: Candidates must reside 75 miles or more from the facility
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced OB nurse to provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum (PP), and Newborn Care. The role requires strong clinical judgment, OB triage capabilities, and neonatal care expertise in a small, patient-focused setting.
Facility Details:
- 3-bed LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit
- 2 postpartum beds
- 1 outpatient room
Patient Ratios:
- L&D: 1:2
- Postpartum Couplets: 1:3
Required Experience:
- 3–5 years of Obstetrics (OB) experience
- Proficiency in OB core competencies, including OB triage and neonatal care
Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
- STABLE (preferred)
Education Requirements:
- ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) minimum
- A-1 Fetal Monitoring Certification
Systems & Technology:
- Experience with TruBridge and PeriGen EMR systems preferred
Work Schedule:
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Occasional floating to ER or ICU (rare)
