Position Overview

A Maximum Security Prison is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinician to provide mental health services within a correctional environment. This role requires strong independent clinical judgment, advanced skills in assessment and diagnosis, and the ability to function confidently with minimal on‑site supervision.

The ideal candidate demonstrates assertiveness, leadership, and critical thinking, while maintaining strong collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Comfort conducting difficult clinical conversations, adhering to structured treatment models, and working with high‑acuity populations is essential.

Minimum Requirements

• Active clinical license in the candidate’s home state (LCSW, LCPC, LMHC, LPC, or equivalent)
• 1+ year of Corrections Clinician/Social Worker experience
  • OR 1+ year of inpatient psychiatric experience if no corrections background
• Demonstrated experience assessing and diagnosing patients
• Strong clinical discernment and safety assessment skills
• Ability to work independently with limited coaching or on‑site support

• Comprehensive mental health assessments
• Safety and suicide risk assessments
• Psychiatric diagnosis
• Motivational interviewing
• Treating patients with a history of:
  • Substance use disorders
  • Suicidal ideation
• Managing difficult conversations with patients and colleagues
• Balancing leadership qualities with strong teamwork

Facility Expectations (Maximum Security Setting)

• Facility utilizes evidence‑based treatment curriculums
  • Candidates must be fully comfortable executing assigned clinical programming and interventions as designed
• Willingness to learn and follow state‑specific correctional regulations, policies, and clinical standards
• Confidence working in a structured, high‑accountability maximum security environment
