Description
Chemotherapy infusion nurses are responsible for administering intravenous chemotherapy drugs and other types of intravenous therapies; and providing pre- and post-treatment patient care.
1. Assessing patients before IV treatments
2. Accessing Ports or IV access peripherally for lab draws and IV therapies.
3. Administering chemotherapy and other IV infusions- operate the equipment and monitor patients during treatment. Administering prescribed intravenous medications as well as oral pre-treatment medications.
4. Monitor and respond to side effects or reactions and treating appropriately per protocols.
