Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (10:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Employment Type: Contract / Travel Position

Job Summary

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced cath lab environment. This role involves both scrub and circulator duties, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The technologist collaborates closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment and sterile field.
  • Assist physicians during cardiac procedures as a scrub and circulator.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately during procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards.
  • Document procedures accurately using Epic electronic medical records system.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning before and after procedures.
  • Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required.


    Work Schedule & Call Requirements
  • Day Shift: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (5 days/week, 8-hour shifts)
  • On-call required: 7–8 call shifts per month
  • Includes 1 weekend call rotation per month
  • Patient Volume

  • Daily caseload per technologist: 4–16 cases (varies based on workload)

    Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Certification required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
  • Experience with Epic EMR system required
  • Strong skills in both scrub and circulating roles

    Licensure
  • Pending state license accepted at time of submission
  • Additional Information

  • Locals not accepted (must reside outside 70-mile radius)
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
  • Additional RTO subject to manager approval after hiring
  • Scrubs provided by facility
  • Free onsite parking available
