Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – 10 Hour Day Shifts
Facility: UNC Health Pardee Memorial Hospital
Location: Hendersonville, NC
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 8 Weeks
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join UNC Health Pardee Memorial Hospital. The OR RN will be responsible for providing high-quality perioperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting surgical teams throughout procedures.
Shift Details:
- 10-hour day shifts: 06:45 AM – 05:15 PM (includes morning huddle at 06:45 AM)
- GSA: Up to 40 hours per week
- Hours not guaranteed during orientation week or holidays when the unit is closed
- Facility may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty
Orientation:
- Five 8-hour shifts
On-Call Requirements:
- Weekend Call: Saturday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM (approximately every 6–8 weeks)
- Weeknight Call: One assigned night per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Holiday Requirements:
- One 24-hour call shift per contract
- One 12-hour holiday shift
- Recognized holidays include: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and Christmas Day
Floating Requirements:
- No floating required
Additional Information:
- Monthly staff meeting held during the 4th week of each month
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment
- Assist surgeons and surgical team during procedures
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes promptly
- Document all patient care accurately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
