Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse – CVICU
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Shift: Night Shift (3x12 Hours)
Duration: 12 Weeks
Responsibilities:
- Provide critical care to cardiovascular ICU patients with a 1:2 ratio
- Monitor and manage hemodynamic status including PA catheters and arterial lines
- Care for post-cardiac surgery patients, including open heart recovery
- Manage advanced cardiac devices such as LVAD, Impella, IABP, and temporary pacemakers
- Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, sedation, and cardiac medications
- Perform ventilator management and respiratory support (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC)
- Deliver CRRT/Prismaflex therapy and manage complex renal cases
- Assist with bedside procedures including trachs and PEG placements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience
- Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Strong experience with cardiac devices (LVAD, Impella, IABP required)
- Experience with CRRT and ECMO preferred
- Ability to float across ICU units (CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU)
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
