Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, either Day (07:00–19:30) or Night (19:00–07:30)
• Schedule: Sunday through Saturday with weekend rotation; some holidays based on operational need
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Tracheostomy experience
• Surgical experience
• Acute Care experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Background check within 90 days prior to start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
• Monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems for EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start
• Education verification as applicable
• Drug screening required per standard clinical candidate protocols

Testing & Competency Exams

• Pass/Fail Telemetry testing (Adult or Pediatric depending on unit) required before start and updated annually
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Remediation and retesting allowed up to 3 attempts with required remediation course after 2nd failure

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
• Other vaccines or declinations as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal for certain departments)

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam collected within 1 year (Aya standard)
• Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
• Signed acknowledgment of safety manual and pass/fail testing policies
• References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years (Aya standard)
• Employment application and annual skills checklist required

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Telemetry test is a strict requirement and must be passed before starting
• All certifications must be current and issued by the American Heart Association where applicable
• Background checks with pending or convicted charges require additional review before start
