Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to join a dynamic Obstetrics Acute OB unit. The ideal candidate is confident in managing both mother and newborn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections
• Recover C-section patients and provide postpartum care
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients
• Administer medications including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives
• Monitor fetal heart rates using EFM
• Provide neonatal care in delivery room (APGAR scoring, ID banding)
• Manage pain control including epidurals and PCA use
• Start and maintain IVs and administer blood products

Requirements

• Active California RN License
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• BLS, ACLS, NRP (AHA or American Red Cross required)
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required
• Must be comfortable caring for both mother and newborn
• Epic experience preferred

Additional Details

• Travel experience not required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Modules: 1–5 hours average (non-billable unless exceeding 16 hours)

Compliance Requirements

• Certifications in hand at submission
• 2 professional references (within 1 year)
• 7-year work history verification required
• Must complete labs within 3–5 days of signing
• Sutter cover sheet required

• 50-mile radius rule applies (locals accepted at lower rate)
