Regional Manager – ESS Clinical (Behavioral Health)

OVERVIEW: The successful candidate will oversee regional behavioral health operations and support school‑based behavioral health professionals across ESS Clinical‑partnered school districts, ensuring compliance, appropriate service coverage, and strong district relationships.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Candidates must hold an active professional behavioral health licensure or certification and be able to travel multi-state up to be considered for this role. Applicants who are not certified in a behavior health-related field are not eligible. Experience working in a K-12 school environment preferred.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Builds strong, collaborative relationships with school‑based behavioral health providers, internal teams, and partnered school district administrators, serving as a primary liaison to address clinical, employment, and compliance needs.
  • Travels multi-state to represent the organization at behavioral health and education conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities to build professional relationships, increase brand awareness, and generate leads for future school district partnerships.
  • Partners with school districts and recruiting to assess student behavioral health service needs, coordinate provider staffing, and ensure licensure, credentialing, and school‑specific requirements are met.
  • Oversees timesheet and PTO approvals for school‑based behavioral health staff, ensuring payroll accuracy while maintaining reliable service coverage.
  • Provides ongoing support and performance oversight for behavioral health professionals in schools by addressing clinical questions, incident follow‑up, and district feedback to promote student well‑being, quality services, and district satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Active, unrestricted professional license (e.g., BCBA, LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LCPC, or equivalent); master’s degree and actively licensed in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field (required for eligibility). 3+ years of behavioral health experience, preferably in school‑based, pediatric, community mental health, or youth‑focused settings. Demonstrated leadership or management experience overseeing behavioral health staff, performance, and daily operations. Ability to travel multi-state. Strong knowledge of licensure, credentialing, compliance, and ethical standards related to behavioral health practice within educational environments. Proven ability to build relationships with school district partners and internal teams, manage staffing coverage, and represent the organization in professional or networking settings. Familiarity with RFP processes and cross‑functional collaboration, with the ability to support proposal responses and partner presentations.
