Works across all service lines except Cardiovascular (CV), requiring strong General OR and Level I Trauma experience; familiarity with Cerner is preferred. Must demonstrate broad case experience including bariatric (laparoscopic-assisted), general surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple), neurology (cervical/lumbar fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy), orthopedics (arthroscopy, fracture reductions, carpal tunnel), plastics (microvascular free flap), transplant (organ donation), urology (cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy), and trauma (amputations, GSW/stab wounds, multi-injury MVAs). Requires competency in emergency response (codes, fire safety, latex allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia), use of key OR equipment (electrosurgical units, fiber optics, Hana tables), and professional standards such as blood product administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling, Universal Protocol, and urinary catheterization. Position is based in a 562-bed acute care, Level I trauma, Magnet-designated facility; scrubs are provided, parking is free with permit, and charting is completed in Cerner.
