Description
Job Title: Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
Location: Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth & Pflugerville - TX
Shift: Multiple Shifts
Job Summary
The Interventional Radiology Technologist works under the general supervision of a Radiologist to perform a variety of interventional radiology (IR) procedures on both ambulatory and hospital patients. This role supports the diagnosis and treatment of disease using advanced imaging techniques while adhering to established protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform interventional radiology procedures as ordered by physicians
- Assist radiologists during complex IR procedures
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and proper positioning
- Operate advanced imaging equipment and maintain image quality
- Follow established protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Schedule & On-Call
- 7–8 call shifts per month
- 1 call shift per week
- 1 weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per month
- Must be within a 30-minute call radius
Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Experience:
- Required: Interventional Radiology experience
- Preferred: Experience in a high-volume (busy) lab
- Neuro and Trauma experience preferred
Certifications & Licenses:
- BLS (within 30 days of hire/transfer)
- ARRT-R (Radiography) – Required
- Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) License – Required
- Must obtain one of the following within 2 years of hire:
- ARRT-CI (Cardiac Interventional Radiography)
- ARRT-VI (Vascular Interventional Radiography)
- ARRT-CV (Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography)
