MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Kernersville, North Carolina
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:30 - 20:00), Saturday through Monday
Patient Ratio: 1:2 (weekends 1:1)

Job Description
- Work in a community hospital setting serving outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients.
- Unit systems include Pyxis and Visage PACS.
- Scrubs color: Royal Blue.
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT MR (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Magnetic Resonance)
- Experience starting peripheral IVs
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks required within 90 days of start, including local, federal, national criminal databases, DOJ sex offender search, and education verification for highest degree earned.
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; if past positive TB, physical within 30 days required.
- Fit mask testing required (N95 or PAPR training).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines with boosters if needed; declinations not accepted.
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or facility-specific declination form if titer negative/equivocal.
- TB testing: PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year; if positive, chest x-ray within 5 years and physician-signed TB questionnaire within 30 days required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (starting 9/1, deadline 10/31). Exemptions require mask wearing on campus.
Orientation and Training
- Must complete Non-Novant Health Worker Orientation (8-10 hours for acute candidates).
- Medication Safety training required with certificate of completion.
- Annual compliance training required (approx. 40 minutes).
- Additional state-specific mandatory education if working in South Carolina.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training required if applicable (mostly ER and Behavioral Health nurses).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain RN specialties (not applicable here).
Documentation and Administrative Requirements
- Employment application must be uploaded.
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years for travel allied and acute care candidates.
- Photo for badge required immediately after signing contract (passport style, white background, business attire).
- Confidentiality agreement, hospital policies acknowledgment, tobacco-free campus acknowledgment, and other facility-specific documents required.
- Corp ID process: Candidates must set up Novant Health account and log into I-Learn within 24 hours of receiving email to avoid start delays.
