Description
Job Description & Requirements
- Specialty: Correctional
- Discipline: LPN / LVN
- Duration: 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12 hours
- Employment Type: Local or Traveler
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least one year (12 months) of previous working experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must have up to date credentials in the state of Virginia
- A valid and current CPR card (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Proficiency in the English language is necessary for communication with other staff and patients. LPN must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
Job Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care to ill, injured, or disabled patients
- Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
- Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
- Maintain accurate patient medical records
- Provide companionship and basic care to patients
- Administer prescribed medications to patients
If local, (within 60 miles of home address) hourly pay is $36.00, without stipends, and an added $1500.00 bonus after successfully completing 13 weeks.
