Description

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Blackfeet Community Hospital, Browning, MT 59417

Assignment Duration: July 5, 2026 – July 5, 2027

Position Overview

Chenega is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations by performing routine testing, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The ideal candidate will contribute to accurate diagnostics and efficient laboratory workflow in a clinical or research setting.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses following established procedures and protocols
  • Collect, label, and process specimens with precision and accuracy
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records
  • Adhere to all laboratory safety, infection control, and quality assurance guidelines
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and procedural discrepancies
  • Monitor and manage inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel and healthcare professionals to ensure timely reporting

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of laboratory experience (clinical or research preferred)
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and laboratory information systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent (e.g., ASCP)
  • Experience with automated laboratory systems and diagnostic equipment
  • Familiarity with quality control, quality assurance, and compliance standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP)
