Description
Role Overview
Work as a CVOR RN assisting in cardiovascular surgeries within the operating room. Provide perioperative nursing care and support surgical teams during complex cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
- Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op patient care
- Maintain sterile field and ensure patient safety
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff
- Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies
- Document care accurately
Floating
- Required to float to clinically appropriate units based on skills and competency
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN License
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (CPR)
- ACLS
- Experience in CVOR / Operating Room
Work Setting
- Hospital-based Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Part of Southern Illinois Health system
