Job Title: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location: Steamboat Springs (CO)

Job Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours (07:00 PM – 07:30 AM)
• Start Date: 05/26/2026
• Patient Population: Neonates & Adults
• Unit: 10 beds (5 Labor & Delivery, 5 Postpartum rooms)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 5 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• On-call & Floating: Required as per unit needs

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for laboring, delivery, and postpartum patients
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and high-risk births
• Circulate for Cesarean sections (C-sections) and assist in surgical procedures
• Perform fetal monitoring (external/internal, IUPC placement, interpretation of fetal heart patterns)
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and prostaglandins
• Manage labor complications such as hemorrhage, shock, and hypertensive disorders
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and initial assessments
• Support breastfeeding and postpartum care, including fundus and lochia assessment
• Perform IV therapy, blood administration, and phlebotomy
• Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic charting system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Experience as a Circulator for C-sections required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification (mandatory)
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Active CO or Compact RN license
• Strong skills in fetal monitoring and obstetrical care
