Education:

a. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

· License:

a. Current Washington State RN Licensure.

· Certification:

a. HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire – AHA or equivalent.

· Experience:

a. Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred.

b. Minimum one year of RN experience preferred for specialty nursing departments.

· Skills/Competencies:

a. Ability to perform the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients.

b. Critical thinking skills: Seeks resources for direction. Performs independent problem solving. Decision-making is logical and deliberate.

c. Demonstrate accountability. Practices within legal and ethical guidelines.

d. Crisis management

e. Demonstrates competency in ability to care for customers/patients across the age continuum.

f. Demonstrates competency on equipment listed on department specific checklist.

 

Intensive Care Unit

1.            ACLS (AHA Advanced Life Support) certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire and renewed every 2 years.

2.            PALS (AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire and renewed every 2 years

3.            TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification obtained within 12 months of hire and renewed every 4 years.

4.            PEARS (AHA Pediatric Advanced Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization) certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire and renewed every 2 years.

5.            Moderate sedation training to be completed within 12 months of hire and annually thereafter.

6.            RN-C Preferred

7.            TOTAL JOINT PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS:

·         Continuing Education Requirements

o   4 hours of orientation training

o   4 hours annual training

·         Performance expectations

o   Follow the pathway for total joint replacement dependent on area of specialty
