Description
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and flexible Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitation services across inpatient, outpatient, and pediatric settings. The PT will evaluate and treat patients with physical and developmental disorders while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes and discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients using a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation treatment plans
- Assess strength, balance, coordination, gait, endurance, and range of motion
- Provide pediatric physical therapy services for infants, children, and adolescents
- Perform physical examinations and interview patients/families to identify movement disorders and treatment needs
- Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support discharge planning and patient/caregiver education to maximize independence
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC EMR
- Float between departments and nearby facilities within 20 miles as needed
- Maintain productivity expectations of approximately 10 patients per day
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of current Physical Therapy experience required
- Must have both Inpatient and Outpatient experience
- Minimum 1 year Pediatric PT experience required for pediatric coverage
- Prior 13-week travel assignment required
- Strong teamwork, flexibility, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with rehabilitation program design and patient advocacy
- EPIC experience preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy preferred
Certifications & Licensure
- Active New Mexico Physical Therapist License required
- BLS certification required (AHA, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety)
Schedule Details
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- One weekend per month required (Sat-Sun)
- Schedule adjusted during weekend rotation to maintain 40-hour work week
- Mixed outpatient and acute care caseloads
