Shift: Nights – 3x12s

Hours: 36 Hours Weekly

Position Overview

Baptist Health Louisville is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for a night shift contract assignment. The CCU is an 18-bed unit specializing in the care of critical care and telemetry patients across varying acuity levels, offering nurses the opportunity to strengthen critical care, telemetry, and med-surg skills in a collaborative environment.

This role focuses on delivering patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care while promoting healing, safety, and wellness through interdisciplinary teamwork and strong clinical judgment.

Unit Overview

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) provides care for:

  • Critical care patients
  • Telemetry patients
  • Adult to geriatric populations
  • Patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring and acute nursing interventions

Nurses in this unit gain broad exposure across:

  • Critical care
  • Telemetry
  • Medical-surgical nursing

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing clinical monitoring
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and prescribed treatments
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge planning
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and care plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise patient care activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted RN License
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • ADN or ASN required
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment

Schedule & Assignment Details

  • Night Shift – 12-hour shifts
  • 3 shifts per week
  • 36 guaranteed hours weekly
  • Weekends as required per unit scheduling needs
