Schedule: Days & Night Shift | 3x12-Hour (Both are available)
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks with possible extension

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical for a 13-week travel assignment in Columbia, Missouri. This position is ideal for candidates with strong Med/Surg and orthopedic experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced inpatient setting caring for post-operative orthopedic, trauma, spine, medicine, and plastics patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 42-bed Medical Surgical/Orthopedic unit
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from orthopedic and trauma-related procedures
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other treatments as ordered
• Perform telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
• Maintain and manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including PT, Pharmacy, Radiology, and Social Services
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes
• Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards
• Float to appropriate units as required based on staffing needs

Qualifications

• Active Missouri RN License or Compact RN License required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical experience required
• AHA - BLS
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Experience with orthopedic and post-operative patient care preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must be willing to float as needed
