Assignment Breakdown – Psych RN (Behavioral Health)

• Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
• Schedule: EOW (Every Other Weekend)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Unit Details

• 26-bed inpatient adult behavioral health unit
• Patient Population:
  • Primarily 55+ Geri Psych patients
  • Dementia accepted as primary diagnosis
  • Bipolar disorder is second most common diagnosis
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:6

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)

Important Notes

• 60-mile radius rule applies
• Driver’s License must be submitted
• Clinician must already be in-state during orientation week, even if first-day modules are remote
• Floating may be required to:
  • Med Surg
  • Possibly OB
  • Experience floating outside Psych is highly preferred
• Weekend Requirement:
  • At least every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Requirement:
  • Yes
• No call or standby requirement

Orientation

• 3 x 12-hour orientation shifts on the unit

Additional Unit Notes

• Seclusion room available, but currently not staffed for 1:1 care
• No telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Solid-colored scrubs only (no prints)

Cancellation Policy

• Facility may cancel:
  • Up to 4 shifts for a 13-week contract
  • 3 shifts for contracts shorter than 13 weeks
