Job Breakdown: ED Registered Nurse (Travel)

Location/Facility: Level III Trauma Center 

Contract Duration: 13 weeks 

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Core Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in a high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department.
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted.
• EMR: Epic (Required).
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC.

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• High-Acuity Care: Managing medication drips, blood products, art lines, chest tube setup, and trauma/code assistance.
• Triage: Hospital-specific Triage Test required prior to start; must have strong ESI understanding.
• Equipment: Splinting, BiPAP, ventilators, and barcode medication administration.
• Patient Population: Neonates to Geriatrics. Includes stroke (TNK administration), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health, and pediatrics.
• Facility Metrics: 34 ED beds, 226-bed hospital, seeing 200–250 patients daily.

Logistics & Schedule

• Patient Ratios: 1:3 to 1:5 depending on acuity.
• Floating/On-Call: No floating; no on-call requirements.
• Weekends: Every other weekend; flexibility required.
• Attire: Any color scrubs (no logos).
