RN ICU/CCU – Night Shift Contract Assignment

Position Overview

A Level II Trauma Center in California is seeking an experienced ICU/CCU Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift contract assignment. The RN will provide critical care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. Candidates must have prior travel nursing experience and be comfortable floating to other units, including Med/Surg, as needed.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night Shift (NOC)
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts with a 7:00 PM start time
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to Med/Surg and other units may be required based on staffing needs

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to critically ill ICU/CCU patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment and telemetry systems
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Respond rapidly to emergency situations and changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation
• Support patient safety initiatives and hospital policies

Requirements

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU/CCU nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Proficiency with Epic EMR/charting system required
• Ability and willingness to float to Med/Surg and other units as needed
