Description

RN – MedSurg/Tele
Location: Charlotte
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12hr Night Shift | 7:00PM – 7:00AM | 36 Hours

Unit Details

  • 24-bed MedSurg/Tele unit
  • RN Ratios: 1:5-6
  • Resource Team position

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years recent Med/Tele RN experience
  • First-time travelers not preferred but considered with strong experience
  • Active RN License required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

  • Sepsis
  • Respiratory illnesses
  • GI disorders
  • Infections
  • Liver failure
  • AKI/CKD
  • Home vents
  • Trachs

Required Skills

  • Stroke care experience
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Trach care
  • PIV starts
  • Chest tube management
  • NGT placement
  • Drain/tube management:
    • Dobhoff
    • PEG tubes
    • Hemovac
    • JP drains
    • Flexiseals
    • Foley insertion/management
  • PCA pumps
  • Medication/drip management:
    • Cardiac drips
    • Heparin
    • Blood products
    • IV fluids

Support & Equipment

  • CNA support
  • Charge nurse available 24/7
  • IV/VAT Team
  • RT, Hospitalist, and Intensivist available 24/7
  • Nurses responsible for telemetry monitoring
  • EMR: EPIC
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Med Dispensing: Omnicell
  • Monitors: Phillips

Floating Requirements
Traveler must be agreeable to floating within assigned region and scope of practice.

  • Levine Children’s Hospital

Region 3 Facilities:

  • Cleveland
  • Kings Mountain
  • Lincoln

Traveler will remain on the clock and be paid for travel time if floated mid-shift.

Schedule Details

  • Every Other Weekend required
  • No On-Call
  • Travelers required to work 75% of holidays

  • NEO Orientation
  • 2 departmental orientation days
