Title: Inpatient Pharmacist - Travel Assignment
Location: Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital - Hood River, Oregon
Shift: Day or Night Shift | 4x10s
Contract Duration: 8-Week Travel Contract
Position Overview
Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist for an 8-week travel assignment at a Critical Access and Level III Trauma Center in Hood River, Oregon. This opportunity is ideal for pharmacists who excel in acute care environments and are passionate about delivering safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care.
The pharmacist will support inpatient medication management, clinical dosing, IV preparation, and interdisciplinary patient care within a collaborative hospital setting.
Available Schedules
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- 4x10-hour schedule
- Block scheduling available
Key Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense inpatient medication orders
- Provide clinical dosing and pharmacokinetic monitoring
- Perform therapeutic medication monitoring and interventions
- Prepare compounded sterile products and IV medications
- Support IV piggyback and IV push medication preparation
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and pharmacy regulations
- Participate in overnight patient care coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist license (Oregon license required; pending accepted at submission unless otherwise specified)
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience
- BLS certification required
- Experience in inpatient or acute care pharmacy settings
- Strong IV compounding and clinical dosing knowledge
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Must have reliable transportation for assignment
Preferred Experience
- Inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Pharmacokinetic dosing and therapeutic monitoring
- Travel healthcare experience
- Experience working independently during overnight coverage
