Position Type: Temporary to Permanent (opportunity to extend or go permanent based on business needs)

Location: Akron, OH 44304

Schedule: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM

Position Overview:
The PCU RN position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage patients with complex and changing conditions in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical changes
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols
• Utilize Epic electronic medical record system for documentation and patient care management
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Adhere to all patient safety, infection control, and compliance standards
• Support patient and family education regarding treatment plans and care needs
• Maintain strong communication with staff, patients, and leadership teams

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a PCU setting required
• Active RN license required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH certification required
• Experience using Epic EMR required
• Resume must clearly list Epic systems experience used within each position during the past 12 months
• Accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE required
• Strong critical care and patient monitoring skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Scheduling & Time-Off Requirements:

• Interview required prior to offer
• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted at time of application submission
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed during assignment
• No additional RTO requests will be accepted after submission
• No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Block schedules may be approved on a case-by-case basis
• Candidates should indicate at submission if a block schedule is requested

Dress Code:

• Solid black scrubs required

• This is a high-acuity PCU environment requiring recent relevant bedside nursing experience
• Strong compliance with scheduling, attendance, and documentation requirements is essential
• Candidates should be prepared for night shift scheduling and hospital-based patient care responsibilities
• Interview completion is required before placement consideration
