Med Surg Travel RN – Petoskey, MI

Facility: McLaren Northern Michigan
Location: Petoskey, Michigan
Unit: 2 South Medical Surgical Unit
Start Date: 6/15/2026
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (91 Days)
Schedule: 36 Hours Per Week
Shift: Days and Nights Available!
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Call Requirement: None
Openings: 12 Travel RN Positions

 

About the Unit:
2 South is a 28-bed Medical Surgical Unit with a diverse patient population including general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients. This is a fast-paced, patient-centered environment focused on safety, teamwork, and quality outcomes. The unit promotes a collaborative culture through shared governance and strong interdisciplinary communication while supporting both experienced and newer nurses in their professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med Surg patients
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Perform ongoing patient assessments and adapt care based on changing patient needs
  • Utilize evidence-based practice and clinical pathways to improve patient outcomes
  • Maintain effective communication using SBAR and other interdisciplinary communication tools
  • Demonstrate strong time management and teamwork skills
  • Serve as a professional resource and role model within the unit
  • Deliver compassionate, holistic, and patient-centered care

 

Requirements: Active Michigan RN License required AHA BLS Certification required Minimum 2 years of recent straight Medical Surgical RN experience required Stepdown, Telemetry, or float pool experience alone will not qualify Level I or Level II Trauma experience required Beautiful, clean facility that overlooks the Bay!
