π₯ About the Role
Advocate Southeast is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) β MedSurg/Tele for a night shift travel assignment in a busy surgical nursing unit at AH Pineville Main in Charlotte, NC.
This is a great opportunity for a strong MedSurg/Tele RN who enjoys a fast-paced acute care environment with strong interdisciplinary support.

π©Ί Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to MedSurg and surgical patients
- Manage conditions such as CHF, sepsis, DKA, AKI, pneumonia, diabetes, anemia, and post-op surgical cases
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms
- Administer and manage non-titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone)
- Perform wound care, IV starts, blood transfusions, and care of tubes/drains
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, RT, pharmacy, case management, and support staff
π§ Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 18 months MedSurg/Tele experience
- Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Strong MedSurg skillset (IVs, wound care, drains, post-op care)
- Comfortable working in a high-acuity inpatient surgical unit
- First-time travelers accepted

- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS

- 34-bed MedSurg/Tele unit
- Patient ratio:
- Nights: 1:6 (may increase during surge)
- Strong support team including:
- CNA support (1:12 ratio)
- Charge RN & Unit Clerk 24/7
- IV/VAT team, phlebotomy, RT, pharmacy, case management
- EMR: EPIC | Alaris pumps | Omnicell | Philips monitors
π Schedule & Shift Details
- 12-hour night shifts (18:50 β 07:20)
- 36 hours/week guaranteed
- Every other weekend rotation
- 75% holiday coverage required
- No on-call
- Floating required within region and scope of practice (multiple Charlotte-area facilities)
