RN – CVOR – 13 weeks – Asheville, NC
 

Responsibilities:

• Provided pre-operative nursing care for cardiovascular surgery patients in a high-acuity CVOR setting.
• Performed comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, and pre-surgical preparation for cardiac procedures.
• Initiated large-bore IV access and assisted with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement.
• Supported patient transport to the OR and assisted with induction, intubation, positioning, and surgical skin prep.
• Monitored patients using GE Carescape equipment and documented care in Cerner.
• Collaborated with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe surgical workflow.
• Assisted with post-prep coordination and maintained accurate documentation in a fast-paced cardiovascular unit.
• Participated in call requirements and floated within scope of practice as needed.

Required skills:

• Minimum 2+ years of RN CVOR/Cardiovascular Surgery experience
• Critical care experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Strong IV start and pre-op assessment skills
• Experience in high-acuity cardiovascular patient care
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced surgical setting
