Day 3x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15)is the shift for this role. The Job Description:Registered Nurse - PCU Ratios: 1:5. *NOTE: On rare occasions Ratio could flex to 1:6 and travelers will be expected to take the extra patients. **Years of Experience REQ: 1 to 2 years’ Telemetry Experience Required** Additional Unit Information: It is a 24 bed Intermediate Unit. It takes intermediate medical patients and surgery overflow such as TURPS lap chol lap appy lap hernia eye surgery oral surgery diabetic teaching and wound care. It is a fast paced unit that is necessary for throughput both out of the ED and OR. First-timers accepted: Y/N No Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit. Weekend REQ: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke’s 6-week schedule period combination of F/S/S. Certs REQ: BLS NIHSS Work Settings: MS/Tele Telemetry Cardiac Telemetry ER Holding Neuro Stepdown PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Skills REQ: Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Telemetry -on the unit monitoring Use of Rapid Response Teams. Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols. Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/Renal: Continuous Bladder Irrigation IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing Ports Blood Product Administration Central line care/management Peripheral Line Care/Management PICC line management Starting IVs. MEDICATIONS: Heparin Protocols PCA. Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA. Respiratory: Nasal Cannula Oxygen face masks Portable Oxygen tank. Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions Wound Care/Wound Vac. Additional Skills: cbi management. Skills Preferred: Endocrine/Metabolic: Titration of Insulin Drips. Genitourinary/Renal: Renal Failure. Orthopedics: Ortho trauma Total Joint Replacements. Plastics: Surgical drains. Respiratory: Tracheostomy Management. Additional skills: Eye surgeries. Is on-call REQ? Y/N What is the req? No Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes regular floating may be required between departments units and facilities as needed.
