Job: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Location: Paramus, NJ
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Start Date: 07/06/2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns.
• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using external and internal fetal monitoring systems.
• Assist physicians during vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, and cesarean sections.
• Circulate and recover patients for C-section procedures.
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin drips, prostaglandins, and anticoagulants.
• Perform sterile vaginal exams, NSTs, reflex assessments, and obstetrical triage.
• Start and maintain IV lines, administer blood products, and monitor infusion therapies.
• Provide newborn care including APGAR scoring, infant identification, cord sample collection, and thermoregulation support.
• Deliver postpartum care including breastfeeding support, Foley catheter management, wound care, and perineal assessments.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using Meditech charting system.
• Follow infection control guidelines and isolation precautions while ensuring patient safety.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Active NJ RN License or Compact RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (or NCC C-EFM).
• Experience with fetal monitoring, high-risk antepartum care, and obstetrical emergencies.
• Strong knowledge of labor management, postpartum care, and neonatal stabilization.
• Experience with epidural anesthesia, PCA pumps, and pain management techniques.
• Ability to work every other weekend and in a fast-paced acute care setting.
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exemptions.
