Job: Registered Nurse – Stepdown

Location: Cleveland, OH
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Rotating Day/Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Start Date: 06/26/2026

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for patients in a cardiovascular surgical stepdown unit.
• Monitor and assess post-operative cardiac and stepdown patients requiring telemetry and progressive care monitoring.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and cardiac-related treatments according to physician orders.
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret ECG rhythms accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.
• Float to similar patient care units including J1-2, J33, and Emergency Department overflow areas as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow infection control and hospital safety protocols.
• Respond appropriately to rapid changes in patient conditions and medical emergencies.
• Participate in orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License required.
• Minimum 18 months of permanent Stepdown experience required prior to travel assignments.
• Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience required.
• PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or American Red Cross).
• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required.
• Must be flexible with rotating day and night shifts based on operational needs.
• Must be willing to work every other holiday as required by the facility.
• Experience floating to similar units preferred.
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate testing required during orientation
