Acute Inpatient Physical Therapist – South Hill, VA

Looking for an experienced Acute Care PT who enjoys working in a true inpatient hospital environment where clinical reasoning, mobility progression, and interdisciplinary teamwork matter. This 13-week travel assignment is located in South Hill, Virginia at VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital and offers the opportunity to work with a diverse adult inpatient population in a supportive hospital setting.

This role is ideal for a PT with strong acute/inpatient experience who is confident managing medically complex patients and navigating a fast-paced hospital environment.

Assignment Details

• Acute Inpatient Physical Therapy
• 13-week travel contract
• Day shift schedule
• Adult inpatient population
• EPIC EMR required
• Must have at least 2 years of recent acute/inpatient PT experience
• Experience with mobility progression, discharge planning, gait training, transfers, and interdisciplinary collaboration required
• BLS required
• Virginia PT license required (or ability to obtain quickly)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Evaluate and treat hospitalized patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses
• Work closely with physicians, nursing, OT, speech, and case management teams
• Assist with discharge recommendations and safe transition planning
• Treat patients with mobility limitations, post-operative conditions, neurological diagnoses, cardiac conditions, and generalized deconditioning
• Document efficiently in EPIC
