CVICU Travel Nurse – Job ID: 1432047
Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in a high-acuity critical care environment. This role is best suited for clinicians with strong cardiovascular experience and advanced device management skills.
Position Details
Specialty: CVICU
Patient Ratio: 1:2
Call Requirement: None
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW)
First-Time Travelers: Not preferred, but may be considered
Required Certifications
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of recent Critical Care experience
Proficiency in:
Management of vasoactive medications
Surgical drains and chest tubes
Mechanical ventilation
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
Invasive hemodynamic monitoring (arterial lines, central lines, PA catheters)
Temporary pacemakers
Advanced Skills
Experience with advanced cardiac devices required:
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
Impella
Patient Population
Common diagnoses include STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction)
Floating Requirements
Candidates must be willing to float within Region 1 facilities as needed, including:
Cabarrus
University City
Stanly
Lake Norman
Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH – Pediatrics only)
Additional Notes
No call required
Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to varying unit needs

Rates are not always the best, would be nice to have a few more eastern and southern state options, like Mississippi or North Carolina cities
