Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join our healthcare team. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist will perform complex laboratory testing and analysis on patient specimens to assist physicians in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, accuracy, and compliance with laboratory regulations and quality standards.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex laboratory testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, blood bank, and urinalysis.
  • Analyze and interpret laboratory results with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure proper specimen collection, labeling, processing, and storage procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Follow laboratory quality control and quality assurance protocols.
  • Document test results accurately in laboratory information systems (LIS/EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals regarding laboratory findings.
  • Monitor inventory and maintain adequate laboratory supplies.
  • Participate in proficiency testing, competency assessments, and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field.
  • Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS/MLS/MT) certification required.
  • Valid state licensure, if applicable.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of recent clinical laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality control practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in hospital or diagnostic laboratory settings.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
