Pay Range: 

$33.00 - $50.64

 

Direct Hire | Full-Time

A healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a full-time opportunity. This position is responsible for supervising nursing staff during assigned shifts while providing high-quality patient care in support of medical staff directives. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering excellent patient care in a hospital setting.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skills

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • No experience required beyond that obtained in nursing school.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize patient care in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to supervise and delegate tasks to nursing staff and support personnel.

License & Certification

  • Current licensure by the Nebraska State Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse.
  • ACLS certification required within one year of employment.
  • PALS certification required within one year of employment.
  • TNCC certification required within one year of employment.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview

  • Responsible for supervising nursing staff during assigned shifts.
  • Assigns patients and duties to nursing staff while organizing and prioritizing patient care activities.
  • Performs professional nursing care in support of medical treatment plans as directed by medical staff.
  • Ensures safe, effective, and compassionate patient care throughout the hospital.

Hospital Assignment Details

  • May be assigned to any unit within the hospital.

Unit / Facility Details

  • Hospital-based nursing environment.
  • Unit assignment based on staffing and patient care needs.

Patient Population

  • ER, acute care, and skilled care patients.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
  • Administer prescribed medications orally, intravenously, and parenterally.
  • Observe and monitor patient reactions to medications and treatments.
  • Monitor progress of parenteral infusions.
  • Assist physicians with dressing changes, wound care, and incision cleaning.
  • Assist with insertion and maintenance of subclavian catheters.
  • Observe, record, and report patient conditions and responses to treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and nursing documentation.
  • Delegate patient care assignments to LPNs and nursing aides.
  • Supervise patient care activities performed by nonprofessional personnel.
  • Coordinate patient care services including x-rays, laboratory testing, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Enter physician orders according to hospital policy.
  • Handle staff and patient-family concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Assess and plan patient care using care plans and nursing notes.
  • Keep the Director of Nursing Services informed regarding staffing or census concerns.
  • Provide respiratory therapy treatments as ordered.
  • Assist with lab draws and EKGs when necessary.
  • Restock supplies and monitor supply expiration dates as assigned.
  • Perform patient assessments upon admission and during each shift.
  • Follow infection control guidelines and hospital procedures.
  • Participate in peer evaluations, staff meetings, and in-service education.
  • Follow the established chain of command.
  • May function as a Nurse Supervisor and report directly to the Director of Nursing Services.

 

Schedule (Shifts, Hours, Days, etc.)

  • Full-time schedule.
  • Weekend work required.
  • May be required to rotate shifts.
  • May be called in during emergency situations.

 

Travel & Logistics

  • Prefer local candidates when possible.

  • Appearance: Must wear a clean and professional uniform and maintain good personal hygiene with minimal perfume.
