• Provide comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.
• Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery.
• Perform fetal heart rate monitoring and recognize signs of maternal or fetal distress.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist physicians, certified nurse midwives, and obstetric teams during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Prepare patients and equipment for labor, delivery, and emergency obstetric procedures.
• Support and educate patients and families regarding labor processes, pain management options, and postpartum care.
• Monitor labor progression and communicate changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
• Assist with induction of labor, epidural procedures, and high-risk obstetric interventions.
• Provide newborn stabilization and immediate post-delivery care as appropriate.
• Respond effectively to obstetric emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage, fetal distress, and emergency deliveries.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality maternal and neonatal care.
• Educate patients on breastfeeding, newborn care, recovery, and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality care standards.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certification preferred or required per facility.
• Experience in Labor & Delivery, Women's Health, or Obstetric Nursing preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and emergency response skills
