CT Technologist (CT Tech) – Travel/Contract Assignment
Location: Akron Campus, Akron, OH
Department: CAT Scan
Assignment Duration: June 28, 2026 – September 26, 2026
Shift: 1:00 PM – 1:30 AM
Schedule: Every other weekend required (Block weekend scheduling accepted)
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join a leading Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center in Akron, Ohio. The CT Technologist will operate computerized tomography and radiologic imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic CT scans and radiographs while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and experience working in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic CT scans and radiographic procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout imaging procedures.
- Evaluate image quality and collaborate with radiologists to obtain additional images when necessary.
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Assist physicians with invasive and interventional procedures as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the EMR system.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain CT imaging equipment.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols.
- Provide compassionate patient care while maintaining dignity and confidentiality.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and initiate CPR when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current Ohio Radiographer License.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Minimum two (2) years of CT Technologist experience.
- Recent Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months.
- Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center and Stroke Center environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT (CT) Registry certification.
- Previous experience using Canon CT imaging equipment.
- Prior travel or contract healthcare experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging procedures and radiographic techniques.
- Ability to administer IV contrast safely.
- Excellent patient positioning and image acquisition skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and imaging systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients safely.
Physical Requirements
- Heavy physical demand position.
- Ability to exert 50–100 pounds of force occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, and 10–20 pounds continuously to move or assist patients and equipment.
Additional Requirements
- Maximum of 7 days RTO (Request Time Off).
- No on-call requirements.
- No holiday coverage required.
- Must be available to work every other weekend.
- Candidates must provide interview availability when submitted.
